1935 BMW R12
BMW, known as the producer of some of the finest motorcycles in the world, introduced the R12, a 750cc model, on February 14, 1935, along with the R17, at the German Automobile Exhibition in Berlin. The R12 was an advanced design The R12 and the R17 were the first motorcycles to feature telescoping hydraulic front forks.

An optional heat riser system was available back in 1936 to speed warm-up. A small pipe ducted exhaust gases from the header pipe to a baffled chamber in the manifold to heat the manifold and fuel mixture. 1935 BMW R12 (SOLD) This is a 1936 BMW R12 that I have personally owned twice since its been in the USA. It is a 1936 model with a real P frame number on the left side under the axel. It also has delivery information from BMW archives, it was delivered to a BMW dealer near Manheim. The motorcycle currently has a new motor in it, new pistons.

The BMW R12 was built between 1935 and 1942, it's a famously tough and reliable motorcycle that was fast by the standards of the era and well-suited to sidecar duties. BMW would build over 36,000 examples of the R12 and during WWII they were used extensively everywhere from the frozen Eastern Front to the deep dunes of the Sahara in North Africa.
